Inside Indian Valley's Program With FlipSled

Written by Chloe Gemmill | Sep 8, 2025

Training the Braves Way

At Indian Valley, training is more than just lifting weights. It’s about building a culture of toughness, accountability, and effort. Every practice is designed to prepare athletes for Friday nights. The FlipSled football sled has become an essential part of that practice, enhancing traditional workouts into fast-paced, competitive drills. Players aren’t standing around waiting for a turn, they’re making every rep count towards building power and strength.

The FlipSled aligns perfectly with the foundation of the Braves’ football program. It challenges athletes to push harder, move faster, and maintain focus — all while reinforcing the team mindset that defines Indian Valley.

State Champions Don’t Slow Down

Winning a state championship was a huge milestone for Indian Valley, but the Braves aren’t stopping there. Their focus has shifted from celebrating the victory to defending their title, and that means developing an edge with their training and staying sharp all year.

Here, the FlipSled football sled plays a key role in maintaining their competitiveness. It allows players to replicate game-like movements, build explosive power, and push each other in a team-driven environment. Every drill is a chance to maintain the edge that brought them to the top and ensure the Braves are ready for whatever comes next.

How FlipSled Builds Complete Athletes

The FlipSled weight sled isn’t just another piece of equipment. It allows athletes to run multiple drills that target different muscle groups and skills-  from core and lower-body power to upper-body drive and total-body coordination.

What really sets the FlipSled apart is how it combines these physical benefits with player engagement. By turning every drill into a competitive challenge, it keeps athletes motivated and excited to put in the work. As Coach Peterman highlights “The kids buy into it… It’s what you need to bring your team to the next level.”

The Extra Push: FlipSled’s Role in Indian Valley’s State Championship Win

In 2024, Indian Valley claimed the first state championship in school history. The title game came down to the final second — and a single point made the difference. Moments like that aren’t the result of luck; they’re earned through months of preparation and training.

As Assistant Coach Chad Peterman shared, “Our school district just won the first state championship in our school and county history this season. We have an offensive line that averages around 200 pounds and were able to rush for over 5,000 yards and score over 700 points on the season. I attribute our ability to run the ball to the FlipSled.”

The FlipSled football sled gave the Braves the extra push they needed to dominate on the ground — and ultimately secure the title in the final seconds. By challenging athletes every day, it built the strength, power, and explosiveness that carried them across the finish line. Championships like theirs are built long before the final whistle.
