The Battle Rope Sled Pull is another dragging workout to blast the lower body. You'll certainly feel this one in the calves, quads, hamstrings, and glutes. The last dragging exercise we looked at was the Arm Over Arm Sled Drag, which focused primarily building strength in the upper body. This one is a standing variant designed to instead produce power from the legs while maintaining a stable upper body.
On the surface the Battle Rope Sled Pull is a dragging leg workout, but there's a whole lot more to it than that. This workout also puts emphasis on keeping a tight core, straight back, and stabilized shoulders for an effective upper body balance workout. The Battle Rope Sled Pull works the shoulders much like a Farmer Carry does, it keeps constant tension in the shoulders to strengthen and stabilize the shoulder joints. The Battle Rope Sled Pull also features grip strength training, requiring a solid hold and firmly planted feet to transfer your energy and drive yourself backwards.
