Move of the Week: Firemen Hose Drag

Written by Thomas Dunstan | Aug 15, 2021 5:00:00 AM

The Firemen Hose Drag is an endurance workout designed to build lower body power and drive. Using ropes over the shoulders to pull a sled behind you will give you a solid lower body workout. The Firemen Hose Drag is a practical workout -- driving forward through resistance is something you'll come face-to-face with across many sports, and this workout will help you be prepared to power through.

Why Firemen Hose Drag?

The Firemen Hose Drag is a leg burner. The move requires firm planting of the feet and driving forward with power coming from the calves, quads, hamstrings, and glutes. Compared to something like a sled push, the Firemen Hose Drag eliminates a majority of the upper body work and isolates the muscles of the lower body. Besides the ropes on the shoulders for holding, the Firemen Hose Drag doesn't allow any help from the upper body -- which blasts the legs even further.
