On June 20, 2026, FlipSled was an integral part of the largest lineman challenge in the entire country. Featuring over 900 players and 75 teams, we were able to show these athletes and coaches firsthand how impactful FlipSled can be.

Everyone knows that games are won in the trenches, despite linemen never getting the love they deserve. This day was about allowing the kids who do the dirty work to get out there and compete in something outside of the weight room.

Celebrating the Best in the Trenches

Players and coaches travel from all over the state to come to this event. It is truly the cream of the crop when it comes to state-wide linemen challenges. It not only serves as a competition, but also creates a sense of camaraderie between the players before the season begins in just a few months.

This also wasn’t an event where just anyone could come and take part. These athletes had to work to qualify at a previous event, with this competition being the “State Championship”. So, in a way, this event was celebrating the accomplishment of qualification for these players. But at the end of the day, they were there to win.

Putting Linemen to the Test with FlipSled

The first drill these linemen had to compete in was one of our core movements, the FlipSled Team Sled. With all the FlipSled accessories attached, teams had one player on each handle with another pushing on the back. On the whistle, they pushed the sled at maximum speed for a specific amount of yardage, and then turned around and came back doing the same thing through the starting line. Teams were judged based on time, so the teams were moving as fast as possible.

The other FlipSled drill was the FlipSled Flip, a drill heavily utilized by high schools and colleges across the country. The teams would pick their strongest 5 linemen, and then one at a time would flip the sled 4 times before passing it off to the next player. This drill was also timed, and the sled was weighted, so the players were flipping with full velocity and strength in order to get done fastest.

Inside the Event

The event was held at Division 3 school Hardin-Simmons University in Abilene, Texas and was put on by Big Body Business. The athletes rotated through 9 other events that weren’t FlipSled related. Some included: farmers carry, bench press, truck pushes, and tug of war. Awards were given out per division, and a champion team was crowned in each as well.

The players were not only able to be on an NCAA campus and facility, compete against the highest level of Texas high school talent, win trophies, but also able to cultivate team culture and strengthen bonds before the season.

If you want to create the same culture for your program while also building strength and power, look no further than FlipSled. The FlipSled is an innovative football sled that was built to allow for multiplanar, compound movements that create strength, acceleration, and explosiveness while cultivating positive team culture.
